Tulsa, OK – On Wednesday, Dr. Everett Piper personally endorsed Andy Coleman in his bid to become the next U.S. congressman representing Oklahoma’s First Congressional District.  The president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Dr. Piper is an acclaimed conservative leader on both the local and national stage.  Dr. Piper’s tremendous influence can be traced to his years of boldly speaking out in defense of time-tested truths, including matters of religious liberty and constitutional freedoms.

“Oklahomans living in the First District have been well served by Jim Bridenstine, our outgoing congressman, who represented us with conviction and courage,” Dr. Piper shared.  “I firmly believe that Andy Coleman is the candidate most capable of carrying that baton from Jim; to be the type of authentic, conservative leader needed by our communities and country.  His unique background demonstrates a willingness and capacity to serve in complex and even hostile areas.  This will serve him well in the House of Representatives, and help him to be as effective as possible.  For all these reasons, I am pleased to personally endorse Andy Coleman in his campaign for U.S. Congress.”

Coleman is running to replace Congressman Jim Bridenstine, who announced he would not seek reelection following his current term.

Coleman described being overwhelmed upon learning of Dr. Piper’s endorsement.  “I hold Dr. Piper in absolutely the highest regard,” explained Coleman.  “So when I found out he was endorsing me, I was speechless.  Dr. Piper brings that rare blend of grit, faith, and eloquence that makes people take notice.  I believe that’s why his unyielding defense of truth and conservative principles has registered with so many in Oklahoma and across America.  Dr. Piper’s endorsement means so much to me, and I am genuinely grateful for his support.”

Dr. Piper’s endorsement is the third received by Andy Coleman’s campaign this month.  Denny Garrison, the former Oklahoma State Republican Senate Leader, endorsed Coleman several weeks ago.  Earlier this week, conservative icon and Leadership Institute founder Morton Blackwell also endorsed Coleman.  You can learn more about Andy Coleman and his campaign by visiting www.AndyColeman.org.
